Conservation Easements / Loons

Much of the land GTRLC protects is on private land. We work with landowners to put what’s called a conservation easement on these these critical lands. While they aren’t open to the public the properties do provide benefits we can all enjoy like water quality, scenic views and habitat for many animals— including loons (listed as threatened by the State of Michigan), like we see in this short video.
